Hardwood flooring – The floors are mainly based on structures either concrete (slab or reinforced beam) or wood (piles, solid wood beams or wood derivative). It should be remembered that the hardwood absorbs moisture permanently from the materials with which it is in contact, it is necessary to implement a sealing barrier between concrete and wood. In a wooden construction, the floor rests on smooth or wall-mounted .
In the first case, the joists are supported on the high rails of the peripheral walls of the building. In the second case, a wall-hung mural is fixed on the vertical supporting frame: it receives the joists. In a house under renovation, the hardwood floor rests on joists. Two techniques are possible: the sealing in the walls or the use of the mural (beam sealed along a wall).

On stone walls, it is advisable to practice reinforced cavities by mortar-sealing and cemented arches. This is where the main beam will be placed. The joists will be mounted in the same way. If you choose to use a mural, it can be used to support the beams and joists , or include metal brackets that receive the joists . On an old wall, the mural can rest on deep-seated metal crows for extra security.
