A under cabinet knife storage hanging below your top cabinet is a convenient, innovative and elegant place to store your knives. A knife block under the cabinets will keep them off the counter and by hand. With a magnet that holds your knives in the block, you will never have to worry about them falling off, and with a rotating mount, you can pivot the block under cabinets and out of the way when not in use.
Measure your knives’ blades width, length, and clearance around the handle. Buy enough ¼ inch, ½ inch and ¾ inches of wood to complete the knife block. Look for flat material, straight fiber, free of knots. Distribute your knife block starting with an inch ta plank at the bottom. Place a ¼ inch plank above it and mark where your knives will go. Rip your material to the proper widths on a table saw.

Use of your router and a little straight ½ inch, friezes route for the magnetic strips of the two ¾-inch plates. Wrap the separators in wax paper and double check your design. Remove the clamps and sand separators and the wood filler away, using sandpaper or a palm-sized random orbital sander. Install the Lazy Susan rotating mechanism for your knife block as indicated in the instructions included in the package. Different sizes are available, but a 3-inch square model should be sufficient.
