Part of the installation of double bowl farmhouse sink is connecting the drains to each sink. You can install double kitchen sink drains using a similar procedure as a single kitchen sink drain. With the right materials and tools you can do the job in less than an hour. Place a plumbing nut on each end of the pipe and with the wires pointing towards the ends of the pipe. Slide the nuts several inches up into the pipe.
Place a plastic gasket at each end of the Y pipe in front of the nuts. Place the joints at the ends with the flange part towards the ends of the pipe. Mount one end of the double part of the Y in each drain section. Assemble the bottom of the Y on the top of the p-trap. The p-trap is the curved tube under the sink and connects to a straight tube that runs in the stack tube on the wall.

Pull all the nuts forward and thread them in their respective connections, turning clockwise. The seal provides a seal, since it is caught between the nut and the flange part of the other tube. Hand tightens all the nuts and then adjusts a quarter of a turn with a pair of slip joint pliers.
